Otto Oemig has worked in pesticide regulation with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) for the past 11 years. Otto started with DATCP working on pesticide registration before moving into his current position as the Pesticide Programs Unit Supervisor in 2017. In this role he oversees the pesticide programs for the State of Wisconsin including; pesticide registration, pesticide special registration, the Clean Sweep grant program, the Worker Protection Standard program, and the pesticide certification and licensing programs. Otto grew up on a small dairy farm in Wisconsin and worked as a crop scout at a local cooperative during summers throughout high school and college. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. After college he worked as a crop consultant on a number of specialty and row crops before joining DATCP.
