Hannah Francis is a PhD student in Dr. Matt Ruark’s lab. Her research interests include nutrient cycling with cover crops in Midwest cropping systems. After getting her master’s in soil science at UW Madison in the Ruark lab, she worked for several years as an outreach specialist with Dr. Erin Silva’s OGRAIN program before returning to research. When she isn’t soil sampling or in the lab, she can be found trail running or prepping for her next triathlon.
