David Jaramillo is a Research Animal Scientist at with USDA-ARS at the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Dr. Jaramillo’s research is focused on forage and grazing management with special focus on dairy heifers. Over the long term, Dr. Jaramillo’s research goals are to identify grazing management strategies needed to improve pasture productivity and dairy heifer growth in order to increase adoption of pasture-based systems for rearing dairy heifers; these systems can be win-win strategies for improving dairy heifer production and reducing costs for farmers.
